Avoiding a Duck
When Medstead's yeoman farmers had to duck, to keep their hats on walking through the church's northern entry,
Vestry didn't want to raise the roof, so built a new door coming from the south - quite elementary.
When members of the local cricket team espied a church bell standing surplus in a distant field,
knowing that they needed one at home, they played the match for it and won - caught on appeal.
