Headley Theatre Club members were involved in the dramatic walk on Hindhead Common organised by Jo Smith with The National Trust on August Bank Holiday Sunday.
Jo and his 'alter ego' Sir Robert Hunter at the start of the walk. |
First he meets Professor John Tyndall, played here by Rod Sharp. |
We reckoned there were about 35 people following us around the Common on the day. |
We encountered Luke Oates playing a convincing Highwayman |
who duly robbed the wayfarers. |
We met Sir Jonathan Hutchinson (David Burnham), founder of Haslemere Museum, and his wife (Tina Wareham) |
Kay McGregor again played the Broomsquire's wife (see the Waggoners Wells Walk of 2008) but with a different husband this time! |
Jo holding forth at the triangulation point on Gibbet Hill. |
The unfortunate Sailor (Nick Webb) was accosted by three 'mates' (Peter Glinn, Johnny Preskett and Martin Wellen) and murdered to death. |
Dil and Penny have just witnessed the murder and are off to fetch help. |
Jo pontificating at the Sailor's Stone. |
Finally we meet Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Louis Clist) who has just bought his first automobile. |
And fortunately the rain stayed away until the moment we had finished! |
